General Road & Traffic Information

There are several sources which provide information about roadworks, delays and closures and traffic incidents:

StreetworksRoadworks.org and one.network provide essentially the same information about roadworks and traffic incidents but their interfaces and functionality differs.

Traffic Update provides similar information but the site is harder to search in rural areas (though you can find information on specific trunk roads easily using the menu at the top).

For information generally on major road projects, please visit the Highways England website.

Waze App gives you the best route in real time with help from fellow drivers.

@WBerksRoads twitter feed about roadworks and reported problems through West Berks Council.

West Berkshire Council, Swindon Council, and Wiltshire Council have links to maps of their areas showing roadworks and delays. The Vale of White Horse Council’s section is rather less useful.

Reporting problems

Click here for how to report reporting problems with roads and pavements (including faulty traffic lights, potholes, abandoned cars and many other issues) in West Berkshire,  Wiltshire, Swindon and Vale of White Horse.

Rail

Great Western Railways operate services in this area. Worth checking their Journey Checker before you travel.

Bedwyn Train Passenger Group provides information on any issues or disruptions between Theale and Bedwyn. Please email info@bedwyntrains.org.uk to go on their mailing list.
