Treat the foodie in your life this Valentine’s Day to a special meal at charming countryside pub, the Crown & Garter, Inkpen.

Cosy up by the fire and enjoy a one-off Valentine’s menu cooked by Head Chef Karim Senaini and his talented brigade in the kitchen.

Stand-out starters include pan-fried scallops with chestnut velouté (£13.50); camembert, fig and onion tart (£8.50) and pigeon breast with wild mushroom risotto (£9.50). Delicious mains include slow-cooked blade of beef (£18.50); fillet of brill with lobster sauce (£19.50); and tortellini of wild mushrooms (£16.50). Finish off with a decadent dessert of passionfruit and vanilla cheesecake (£8.50) or the chocolate soufflé for two to share – one spoon (£10.50).

With an abundance of fantastic producers right on the doorstep, ingredients are seasonal and responsibly sourced, cooked simply and to perfection. Whilst the Crown & Garter certainly has bags of old rustic pub charm, the food is a cut above your average pub meal. This is a place that cares about good food, where it’s come from and how it’s cooked.
