Drive It Day

26 April @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

We will be celebrating Drive-It-Day once again with a gala steaming and a display of volunteers cars. The route to Crofton is through beautiful country lanes and our part of Wiltshire is well supplied with good pubs for lunch.

We have two large car parks so can cater for multiple car clubs as well as individual cars and motorcycles.

Our craft area will be open for everyone to take part in a Kennet & Avon Colouring competition, decorate a picture frame (and take a photo to print at home of you with a classic car). Or just have fun making something. And around the grounds there will be a Crofton Children’s Trail.

While you are in this part of Wiltshire you can also visit Wilton Windmill, a short drive from Crofton or why not explore further to Stonehenge or Avebury. The Atwell Wilson Motor Museum at Calne and Marlborough with its famous high street are all within easy, pleasant driving distances.

Site open from 10:00. Steaming 10:30 to 15:00. Last entry to Engine House 14:00

On steaming days only the “Smithy Tea Room” offers visitors light refreshments and delightful spot to relax during your exploration.

Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy overlooking the canal and railway.

Access to the site is via the main gate opposite the car park or from the lower canal entrance at Lock 60 and up the steps.

Well behaved dogs on short leads are welcomed on site. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the buildings.
