Following our recent concerts of ‘Easter Blessings’ and ‘Christmas Blessings’ at St Mary’s Church, Thatcham and St Mary’s Church, Chieveley respectively, THE CROMWELL SINGERS proudly invite you to ‘Be Our Guest’ in the Great Hall at Shaw House on SUNDAY 7 JULY!
“We’ve got A HANDFUL OF SONGS to sing you….new songs and blue songs, and songs to bring you happiness. ”
Once again, our Musical Director, Trevor Defferd, has carefully curated a varied afternoon’s entertainment, including songs by John Barry, Lionel Bart, Alan Menken, Rodgers & Hammerstein, John Rutter, Stephen Schwartz and Andrew Lloyd Webber. As a tribute to the 50th anniversary of ABBA’s triumph at the 1974 Eurovision Song Concert, we also present three numbers from ‘Mamma Mia’ for you to sing along to!
Soloists from within the choir will perform numbers from ‘Les Misérables’ and ‘The King and I’, as well as music by Handel and Mendelssohn.
Our in-house trios, ‘The Nylons’ and ‘The Trevorlys’, return by popular demand!
As usual, we showcase talented young performers from the local area and we are delighted to be joined by Alice Golding and Luke Diprose for this special concert, along with our regular accompanist, Jevan Johnson Booth.
With an audience capacity of just 90, we expect the concert to be a sell-out, so please book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. We look forward to presenting our HANDFUL OF SONGS for your enjoyment!
