A new handbell team for beginners

The Barfield Handbell Ringers from Thatcham are starting a new team for beginners.  There will be a taster session on Wednesday 10 September, 7.30-9pm, at St Mary’s Church, Church Gate, Thatcham RG19 3PN for anyone who would like the opportunity to try this lovely activity.  Weekly practices on Wednesday evenings will follow for those who would like to continue.

Under the guidance of Barfield’s musical director, Graham Hedges, you will be able to:

• Learn to ring music on handbells
• Discover the special techniques for varying the sound of the bells
• Enjoy making music with a small group

There will be opportunities to play with the full Barfield team and, as progress is made, members of the new team will be offered the chance to join the full team if they would like to do so.
