A.J. West on The Betrayal of Thomas True + The Art of the Book Cover

8 August @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

We first met AJ when he spoke about his award-winning debut novel The Spirit Engineer at a Halloween dinner at The Retreat. We liked him so much we asked him to interview Alice Winn for her bestseller In Memoriam for us. Now we cannot wait to see the broadcaster and author again as he talks to Emma about his second novel The Betrayal of Thomas True – which I noticed was selected as The Sunday Times’ Historical Fiction Book of the Month yesterday.

The novel is as wonderful outside as in (you should hear us cooing over the ‘peacock spredges’) so we thought this would be a good opportunity to ask Harpercollins’ Creative Director, Claire Ward, to tell us how she designs the covers of some of the most popular books around.
