Chilton Foliat Primary School will be hosting a Greatest Showman themed summer fete on Saturday 22nd June from 1.00pm to 4.00pm.

The event will feature:

  • Zoolab, a ranger-led exotic animal handling workshop,
  • circus skills workshops,
  • Lily the real-life unicorn,
  • a balloon modeller,
  • a giant inflatable,
  • dance displays,
  • candy floss,
  • a ‘Greatest Showman’ fancy dress competition,
  • cake sale,
  • face painting,
  • traditional stalls,
  • games and lots more.

A bar, BBQ and refreshments will be available throughout the event and a raffle will also be drawn on the day. Top prizes include:

  • a family ticket to the Royal Berkshire Show,
  • a £50 Boden voucher,
  • a pair of tickets to the Henley Festival and
  • a tour of the Bombay Sapphire Distillery.

The summer fete is kindly being sponsored by:

The annual Marlborough Rising Music Festival kicks off on Friday 9th August, with a night of Blues, Soul and Funk at Movida, featuring the iconic Tony O’Malley Band and Bristol-based Little Geneva. St Mary’s Church will host a night of fabulous show tunes, and plenty of audience participation, with the West End’s Musical Jukebox.

Saturday afternoon highlights Marlborough’s Rising Talent ahead of a great night of acoustic and Indie Rock, in the Town Hall, headlined by Flyte (fresh from their BST Hyde Park appearance) and local stars Wilding and Ben Cippola.

The festival goes out in style on Sunday 11th, with the not-to-be-missed George Hinchcliffe’s Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. The perfect way, with a glass of Pimms in hand, to close the festival.

Friday 9 August

One descriptions is that “Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality”. Organised by The Friends of Chilton Foliat Primary School to help raise funds for the school, the Christmas event will feature festive fun for all the family including a Santa’s grotto, stalls selling Christmas gifts, craft activities, the opportunity to learn the harp, face painting and festive nail painting. Mulled wine and refreshments will also be available and a Christmas raffle will be drawn on the day.
