Come to Café Modiva in Marlborough for a workshop teaching you to create your own beeswax wraps and organic soaps!

 

The session will run as follows:

6pm: Arrival and drinks

6.15pm: Intro to zero waste living with Hayley from ‘Packaging not Included’ and Charlotte from ‘Zero Waste Life’.

6.30pm – 6.45pm: Q & A with Charlotte on tips on how to live a more waste free lifestyle with practical easy swaps and suggestions- you will find that living zero waste often saves you money too!

6.45-7.45pm: DIY your own custom handmade soap!

7.45pm: Drinks break

8pm – 8.45pm: DIY your own wax wrap!

This will be an all-day GreenFest on Saturday 7 September focusing on sustainability, hosted in Hampstead Norreys.  Villagers and townspeople from all over are encouraged to get involved in helping to shape the day and help out on the day itself.
There will be activities for children and adults and lots of stalls; the village hall will have manufacturers for items such as electric cars, electric bikes, solar panels etc.
The church will also be open with further activities and displays, and the eco-bench made with eco-bricks will be available for all to see the results of their hard work!
The pub in Hampstead Norreys will be hosting a mini FreeFest with all day music so it should be a fun day out with lots to do and see.
No admission charge.

The West Berkshire Climate Conference will explore different ways residents, businesses, local organisations in West Berkshire, and West Berkshire Council, can help tackle the climate crisis. The conference will be opened by Rt Hon Richard Benyon MP.  A number of speaker led session and information exchanges will take place throughout the day. A conference agenda will be published in the coming weeks.

The free event will be held at Newbury College from 10am until 4pm on Monday 28 October.

West Berkshire residents are invited to attend the conference by booking admission in advance but numbers will be limited to 4 tickets per application. Tickets will be available from noon on Monday 16 September at the West Berkshire Climate Conference – Tickets page.

We will be exploring the banks of Letcombe Brook at night to see what creatures use it after dark.  Wear warm waterproof clothing and walking boots or similar.  Distance 1mile max, minimum age 7 yrs.

Booking essential and as bat activity is very weather dependent no guarantees can be made!

Meeting at The Mix at 7pm, finishing back at the Mix
for hot drinks and biscuits.
