1. FOR YOUR BUSINESS CLUB PAGE…

Please bear in mind the following points:

To create your Business Directory page the following needs to be emailed to penny@pennypost.org.uk:

•  300-500 words of copy about your business supplied in a digital format (text in the body of an email is ideal) including at least two attributed customer testimonials (eg from Beth H or BH, Lambourn)
•  One ‘feature’ image supplied as a JPEG, at least 700 pixels wide
•  Three or four smaller images, supplied as JPEGs, at least 350 x 350 pixels
•  Your logo supplied as a JPEG, at least 350 pixels wide

You should provide material (including any weblinks) that is likely to remain unchanged during the period of your membership. Extra charges might apply if materials are not supplied in this format or if your copy requires editing. The duration of your Business Club membership applies regardless of whether or if these materials have been supplied.

As a Business Club member, you can also receive special offers, customer recommendations or  newsworthy events in the Penny Post newsletter. These should be emailed to penny@pennypost.org.uk in a pasteable format by 6pm on Wednesday before that Thursday’s newsletter. Please note that the use of any editorial is at the Editor’s discretion.

Event Listings and Recruitment Advertisements. Your Penny Post Business Club membership also entitles you to a free Recruitment Advertisements and (depending on the arrangement) various event listings in the newsletter. Please see When Supplying your Event Listings‘ and ‘When Supplying your Recruitment Advertisements below for more information on this.

You can also purchase additional packs of Event Listings and Recruitment Advertisements at any time.

You will also receive a log-in so you can post your own events on the Penny Post Website Calendar. Please see ‘When Posting your Events on the Penny Post Website Calendar’ below for more information on this.

As part of your Business Club membership you are also entitled to a reduced-price Penny Post Solus Email (£150 as opposed to the normal £200). Please see ‘When Supplying Information Needed for your Solus Email’ below for more information on this.

2. FOR YOUR RECRUITMENT ADVERTISEMENTS…

Please bear in mind the following points:

•  If you wish an Recruitment Advert to appear on the Penny Post website and if you have already pre-purchased a pack of adverts or have agreed the fee for  a one-off insertion, these should be emailed to penny@pennypost.org.uk in a pasteable format by 6pm on the Thursday of the week in which you want the listing to appear (the newsletters are sent out on Fridays).

•  Recruitment Adverts appear on the Penny Post website but a selection of these, including in general any new ones, are referred to in summary in the Penny Post newsletter.

•  Each Recruitment Advert may be used to encourage applications for a specific position. If you wish to advertise for, say, three different positions at the same time then three different Recruitment Adverts will be created, inserted, linked to and charged for.

•  Each Recruitment Advert will remain on the Penny Post website until either (i) you ask us to remove it or (ii) once any application date deadline specified in the advert has passed or (iii) after four weeks has elapsed since the Recruitment Advert was first posted. If the position needs to be re-promoted after this time then a separate Recruitment Advert will be charged for.

•  If during any of the periods in the above section you wish to make any changes to the Recruitment Advert these will only be accepted by Penny Post if in its reasonable opinion they do not constitute the creation of a separate Recruitment Advertisement.

•  There is no limit to the length of the copy: this will depend on the nature of the position offered. Be sure to include any relevant contact information.

•  The copy should be provided as digital text which can be copied and pasted, ie not in a PDF. Text typed into the body of an HTML email is fine.

•  Penny Post prefers not to have to edit copy as errors can be created as a result. Time also may not permit our contacting you if there is any ambiguity or missing information. Please therefore ensure that your copy is of the right length, clearly describes the job being offered and has the appropriate contact methods.

3. FOR YOUR EVENT LISTINGS…

Please bear in mind the following points:

•  If you wish an Event Listing to appear in the Penny Post newsletter and if you have already pre-purchased a pack of listings, have agreed the fee for  a one-off insertion or if you are a Business Club member these should be emailed to penny@pennypost.org.uk in a pasteable format by 6pm on the Wednesday of the week in which you want the listing to appear (the newsletters are sent out on Thursdays). Events should not be emailed any earlier as they may get missed.

•  The copy should be no more than 20 words long including any relevant contact information.

•  Any event you wish to have mentioned should be either taking place on or having its enrollment on a specific date or dates. For instance, a series of classes that take place, say, every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am would not be appropriate to mention through an Event Listing, although a day or days when you were having a free taster session for this activity certainly would be.

•  The copy should be provided as digital text which can be copied and pasted, ie not in a PDF. Text typed into the body of the email is fine.

•  Penny Post prefers not to have to edit copy as errors can be created as a result. Time also may not permit our contacting you if there is any ambiguity or missing information. Please therefore ensure that your copy is of the right length, clearly describes the event and has the appropriate contact methods.

•  If you have any more detailed information about the event, such as a poster, please send this as an attachment to the email and we shall do our best to publicise this through social media.

•  We may, at our discretion, also include information about the event on a suitable page or pages of the Penny Post website.

•  Providing you have subscribed to one of the packages listed above or if we have agreed this access separately, you can receive your own personal log-in to post any  events on the Penny Post website calendar. You will need to do this even for events which are to be included in the newsletter. For more information, including to request your log-in details if these have not been supplied to you,  please contact penny@pennypost.org.uk .

4.  FOR YOUR SOLUS EMAIL…

Please bear in mind the following points:

•  This generally includes only text and, if you wish it, your  logo. Avoiding images makes your message more likely to be received and clearly understood as many email programmes do not display images immediately, or correctly, or at all.

•  The length and nature of your copy will depend on what you are promoting and we shall discuss with you in good time and make suggestions regarding the copy you provide. A proof will be supplied to you prior to distribution. The email can be sent at any time on any day of the week you specify.
