Tidy Tails Dog Grooming

Tidy Tails at Howards’ Pet Care provides gentle, one-to-one grooming in a calm and caring environment

Now spring is here, it’s the perfect time to get your dogs ready for the sunnier weather. As temperatures rise, many dogs, especially double-coated breeds, begin to shed their winter coats, which often means more hair around the house.

Spring is an ideal to book your dog in for a professional groom. A thorough groom, combined with a specialist mud mask helps to loosen and release dead undercoat, reducing shedding at home and keeping your dog feeling fresh and comfortable.

Regular grooming during this seasonal change not only helps manage excess hair but also supports healthy skin and coat as well move into the warmer months. If you have been noticing more fur than usual around your home, now is the perfect time to treat your dog to a spring refresh!!

Town & Manor and Hungerford Town Hall

Hocktide is over and the cows are back on the Common and on Freeman’s Marsh, settling in well after the excitement of their arrival. Two steers had to be removed from the Common last week due to ill health, but will return soon.

There has been a noticeable increase in dog walkers not picking up their dog’s poos in the last few weeks; not only is this a health hazard and very unpleasant for other walkers and children playing. When the job is half done and a full bag is abandoned, it can be fatal for an inquisitive cow. Please pick up and encourage others to do the same.

Meanwhile, some good Common news; the cowslips are in bloom and the patch is expanding, meadow buttercups are beginning to appear and the meadow saxifrage also. The cuckoo has been heard on Freeman’s Marsh and generally the birds are in full voice.

And a quick reminder that Hungerford residents and charities get a 20% discount on hire rates of the Town Hall complex (except for weddings).

White Feather Gift Shop

Donna is very sad that her little shop in the courtyard is closing. She’s tried everything to keep it going during the past year and would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported her business.

It’s not the end of White Feather Gifts though, it’s a rethink.

Donna asks that we keep following her on social media, and stay on the lookout for updates of what is coming next.
