Climate and ecological change is no longer the remit of activist groups like XR and Just Stop Oil. On 20 January 2026 the UK government released a Joint Intelligence Committee/Defra report on “global biodiversity loss, eco-system collapse and national security”
This can feel quite overwhelming but there are lots of other like-minded people in our local and wider communities who feel likewise and are working hard to make a difference. See below for national and local groups to join and get involved with.
National Emergency Briefing
The National Emergency Briefing in Westminster on 27 November 2025 was the first event of its kind bringing over 1,000 political and community leaders to hear 11 experts speak about the effects of climate change across a range of areas including the NHS, military stability, food security and industry. The NEB team is now campaigning for the government and national media to inform the public about the reality of climate change. You can sign their letter here asking for a Parliamentary Call for a Televised Emergency Briefing.
They are also making a 45 minute documentary for communities to show our civic and political leaders from April 2026 onwards.
Media Revolution

Climate & Nature Bill

“CAN Bill is live, but it must be given time for it to go anywhere. The only way for it to be continued is for Parliament to ask it to be included in the King’s speech.
