Howards Pet Care

Suzi and the team have everything you need for your two and four legged friends from premium dog food, chews, feeding bowls, beds, leads, bird seed to hedgehog houses and bags of dishwater salt.

They even have a pet grooming business joining them soon – watch this space!

At this time of year their wild bird seeds, floating duck and swan pellets are popular. Please avoid giving bread if you can, it is not close to their natural diet and cause create wing deformities due to malnutrition. The surplus bread not eaten by the birds causes pollution in the water, especially if it is mouldy, and also attracts rodents.

Town & Manor and Hungerford Town Hall

The lead-up to Christmas in Hungerford was a magical and very busy affair. Our Constable, Philip Porter, was delighted to have been invited to wonderful community events including the Tuesday Burchet Club Christmas lunch, the Hungerford Town Band Concert and the John O’Gaunt School Senior Citizen’s Christmas lunch, to name but three.

Taking part in the Hungerford Victorian Extravaganza alongside our Mayor Helen Simpson and doing a reading at the Mayor’s Carol Service were both most enjoyable and well attended events.

Philip also found time to help pack hampers at St Lawrence’s Church Christmas Hamper initiative alongside a host of church and community volunteers, including other Town and Manor Trustees Stella and Alistair.

And a quick reminder that Hungerford residents and charities get a 20% discount on hire rates of the Town Hall complex (except for weddings).

Mawers Fishmonger

Paula Mawer is a long-established fishmonger from Grimsby who visits Hungerford and the surrounding area every Wednesday. From about 8am to about 12.30pm she’s at the Hugerford Market in the High Street. But if you miss her there, call to arrange a delivery either regularly or as a one-off.

For the rest of Wednesday, Paula visits customers in villages within a roughly ten-mile radius of the town.

White Feather Gift Shop

Donna is very sad that her little shop in the courtyard is closing. She’s tried everything to keep it going during the past year and would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported her business.

It’s not the end of White Feather Gifts though, it’s a rethink.

Donna asks that we keep following her on social media, and stay on the lookout for updates of what is coming next.
