Make a Difference – Become an Independent Visitor
Could you be a positive, reliable adult in a young person’s life?
NYAS (National Youth Advocacy Service) is working with West Berkshire Council to match volunteers with young people in care through our Independent Visitor service. Independent Visitors are trusted adult role models who build lasting, supportive friendships with young people on a voluntary basis, sharing fun experiences and helping them grow in confidence, self-esteem and resilience.
We’re especially keen to hear from male volunteers, to offer diverse role models and life experiences to the young people we support. You don’t need formal qualifications—just some experience with children or young people and a few hours to spare each month.
Visits are flexible and fit around your schedule. We ask for a commitment of a few hours once a month for at least two years, and we’ll cover all travel and activity expenses.
