Hungerford is famous for its independent shops and businesses which make the High Street worth a visit. There is also a Heritage Trail you can enjoy while you are browsing the shops.

Christmas is nearly upon us and we have a great selection of Charity Christmas cards and as always, we have gifts for everyone, including those who are hard to buy for. Come along and have a look.
 
And of course we also have a great range of candles and all of our Christmas decorations, toys, gifts and games are out in the shop.  
 
The Charity Christmas cards offer support to great causes including Motor Neurone Disease, Macmillan Cancer, British Heart Foundation, Dog’s Trust and Dementia Uk.  
 
There is lots for everyone, so pop in and have a look.

Hungerford Coin & Stamp Centre

We are delighted to let readers know that our application to have ram raid bollards installed outside our shop has been finally approved by West Berkshire Council. 

The application for bollards was made as a result of the devastating ram raid on our original shop in Hungerford High Street on New Year’s Eve last year where the shop suffered irreparable damage and the theft of the safe.

Hopefully this will help uplift our security in place.

Town & Manor and Hungerford Town Hall

Having been granted Listed Building Consent for a number of repairs and modifications to the Town Hall, Magistrate’s Room and Corn Exchange, work has begun. including new hand rails, better lighting, repainting the foyer and Magistrates Room, tackling damp, building shelving in storerooms, replacing a flat roof, new curtains for the Corn Exchange, repairing windowsills and looking into the pigeon problem! Some of the work has already begun, but the entire Town Hall Complex will be closed for January 2025 when much of the work will be undertaken.
 
Thank you to Councillor Jerry Keates and his team for the wonderful Christmas lights this year; the Town Hall Complex looked amazing on the Switch-On night with the red and green uplighting on the veranda and looks lovely with all the trees and lights on its frontage. The Town and Manor are very proud to support the Hungerford Christmas lights project that makes our town a rather magical place at this time of year.
 
We are still waiting for planning consent to get The Kennet Valley Wetland Reserve project started.
 
 
And a quick reminder that Hungerford residents get a 25% discount on hire rates of the Town Hall complex,which, we hope you will agree, is a stunning venue for events of all kinds.
