Tribute to three founding trustees of Greenham Trust on their retirement

Greenham Trust has announced the retirement of three of its founding trustees at its most recent board meeting. Sir Peter Michael CBE, Mr Malcolm Morris, and Mr David Bailey all stepped down after dedicating 27 years of exceptional voluntary service to the Trust.

Sir Peter, a distinguished businessman known for founding Classic FM and The Vineyard hotel group, founded the Trust alongside Malcolm Morris, a chartered accountant, with David Bailey, who also has a background in finance and management, arriving later.

Malcolm Morris played a pivotal role in working with Sir Peter to realize the vision of a philanthropic business park for the benefit of the community. This visionary project has now generated over £78 million in donations to worthy causes across West Berkshire and north Hampshire.

“We are incredibly grateful to Sir Peter, Mr Morris and Mr Bailey for their profound foresight and wisdom in bringing this unique and ambitious project to life.  Without them Greenham Common might have become an international airport, a theme park, or a housing development. The ripples of what they started all those years ago, have now created an amazing asset for the area.” said Chris Boulton, CEO Greenham Trust.

New trustees will be joining the Board in the coming months, further solidifying the depth of expertise and ensuring the Trust’s future and continued strength.
