Volunteer Advisers wanted for Citizens Advice West Berkshire in Newbury

Citizens Advice West Berkshire in Newbury is currently in need of Volunteer Advisers

The Citizens Advice service provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. We also campaign to change laws and policies where we see them disadvantaging our clients.

As a volunteer general adviser you will:

  • Interview clients in a structured way, this may be in person or on the telephone.
  • Guide the client through the steps they can take to resolve their problem using Citizens Advice website or other trusted sources.
  • Consult with session supervisor.
  • Write up details of interview.
  • Carry out more in-depth work needed, for example if a client needs help filling in a form, needs you to contact an organisation for them or if more research is required into their issue.

Extensive training is given for this role so no particular qualifications are needed.
