Karen and Sophie share tips for separated parents on how to organise Christmas best for the children and how to cope if you’re the parent on your own this year. Plan ahead and coordinate travel arrangements to minimise disruption. Communicate clearly with the children so they know what to expect. Give them time and make them feel loved. Don’t put the children in the middle, compete with present giving or argue infront of them. If you have a court order, stick to it. Create new traditions. Don’t make children feel they have to choose between their parents.

Karen is happy to give free advice to any parent who needs guidance about contact over Christmas.
