Newbury Repair Café

Newbury & Thatcham Repair Café will open its doors for the first time on Sunday 25 February 2pm to 4.30pm at Newbury Methodist Church Hall. Visitors can bring their broken items to be fixed during the event with the help of volunteer repairers. The Repair cafe will alternate between Newbury and Thatcham on a monthly basis with Sunday afternoon sessions in Newbury and Sunday morning sessions in Thatcham.

The Repair Café is currently looking for volunteers with repairing skills such as electrical, electronic, sewing, tool sharpening and general repairing skills. Do you like fixing broken items? Do you like investigating the inside of a toaster or repairing clothes and textiles? Visitors to a Repair Café bring a variety of items in for repair. It may be a faulty HiFi speaker, a coffee machine that no longer works, broken china, or picture frames, or … you never quite know!

If you enjoy solving the problem of a non-working item, or mending much loved objects, then why not volunteer at the Newbury & Thatcham Repair Café? If you can help please fill out this online volunteering form.

We are also seeking volunteers for other roles such as welcoming visitors, helping to provide tea and coffee, etc. during the Repair Café events. If you can help, please also use the above link.

Newbury & Thatcham Repair Café look forward to welcoming new volunteers into an enthusiastic team.

There will be further monthly events alternating between Thatcham and Newbury, with the first event in Thatcham at the Frank Hutchings Community Hall on Sunday 24 March from 10am to 12.30pm.
