Thanks to Bob Truman for these monthly updates.
November 2023
It was big shame to hear Lambourn British Legion has closed. We are now seeing some old friends and new ones are coming up to the Woodlands Bar. It seems strange calling it the Woodlands Bar after years of calling it the Green Shed. Now we are not a club anymore, we don’t have to do any membership signing (which means less work for us.)
We have the usual Bingo every Monday, with a special prize bingo on Monday 12 November. Doors open at 7pm, eyes down at 8pm.
October’s Country Music night featured Black Steel and what a great night it was. Every one thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The next Country Music night is with Peter Barlow on Saturday 18 November.
We would like to know how much interest there is in a New Year’s Eve event, as Pete one of our regulars who plays music for all generations has offered to do it for us, as long as we get enough interest. Please contact me at [email protected] for more details.
Swindon’s Coastal Cobras cricket team have confirmed they will be using our pitch as their home ground again next year. Last year they gained promotion to a higher league so we wish them well for next year. Thanks to Ford Fuels and Rooksnest for help with maintaining the grounds.
