December 2023 update

Thanks again to all those who donated to our Collection of Aid for Ukraine on 21st November at Hungerford Town Football Club especially those who travelled from further afield to support the cause. As donors on the day will bear witness, it was incredibly well attended and the volume of aid almost overwhelming at times. Everything has now been dispersed to our various partners for onward shipment and some already delivered to the Ukraine front line where winter is setting in fast.
As you may have read, transport disputes on the Polish/Ukraine border are hampering aid deliveries but we are hopeful this will ease in the new year. We continue to collect medicine and medical & surgical supplies and other critical items detailed on our website here: The list will be updated at regular intervals so please keep tuned.
We still need additional dry storage and would be extremely grateful if anyone could offer HUGS additional space in the Hungerford area to accommodate mounting donations prior to collection by our partners. Contact us using the enquiry form on the HUGS website.
The HUGS team wish to thank everyone who has supported them throughout 2023. As well as donors, this includes our intrepid team of volunteers who work solidly for 6 or 7 hours to sort, pack, box and load aid on donation days.
Our sincere thanks also to those who’ve so generously made financial donations either directly to HUGS or on our Just Giving page.
If all goes to plan, our first Donation Day of 2024 will be in Marlborough during February.
Finally, please spare a thought over the festive season for those enduring another winter on the frontline. From all at HUGS.

November 2023 update

Huge thanks to all those who brought donations to our Collection Day on 21 November and huge thanks also to John Smythe and team at Hungerford Town Football Club for kindly arranging the use of their facility. This was the seventh and last event for 2023 and there was a truly awe-inspiring turn-out: we filled five large vans to brimming with humanitarian aid to send out to families and hospitals in eastern Ukraine who face yet another winter at war.

We could not do this without our dedicated team of volunteers who worked tirelessly for six hours to sort, box, pack and load. Also thanks to our fabulous partners and drivers including SHAP in Swindon who co-ordinate onward transport across Europe.

Recent delays on the Polish border means we will continue to accept some medical supplies but are unable to take more bulky donations before Christmas. We anticipate things will ease in January and will announce our next Donation Day as soon as this happens. In the meantime, please contact us if you can offer a temporary storage facility so that we can jump back into action more quickly when we get the green light.

Thanks again for your continued support and generosity throughout 2023. To see photos or make a financial donation, please see our website where you can also find contact details.

From all on the HUGS team.
