Wantage’s Betjeman Millennium Park needs volunteers!

The Betjeman Millennium Park Trustees are looking for volunteers to help care for this much-loved Pocket Park in the heart of Wantage.

The Park is owned by a charitable trust that was created to save this sensitive ecosystem from development. It is managed and maintained by local people who donate their time and effort to keep it as a haven for both people and wildlife.

We hold monthly working parties, with additional sessions on summer evenings, and we welcome volunteers of all ages and levels of experience. Typical activities include weeding, planting and trimming – and having a cup of tea, a biscuit and a chat!

For those with more time and appropriate experience, we are also keen to recruit volunteers with skills in the following areas:

  • administration
  • social media
  • community engagement
  • fundraising

We also need to boost our litter-picking team. If you’d like to help out but would prefer to work on your own or only have half an hour before work, this role might be a good option for you.
