West Berkshire Community Champion Awards 2022 Winners

West Berkshire Council’s Community Champion Awards are a brilliant opportunity to say thank you to people who have done something special for the local community and will honour individuals and community groups who have gone above and beyond to support others throughout West Berkshire this past year.

The judges were impressed with the quality of nominations. As a result, there were several Highly Commended nominees in the Volunteer of the Year, Community Group of the Year and Lifetime Achievement categories. The awards were given out by West Berkshire Council Chairman, Cllr Rick Jones, on Monday 6 February to:

  • Junior Citizen of the Year: Swara Dasarwar
  • Volunteer of the Year: Sarah Johnson (Highly Commended: Claire Jones, Nicola Swan)
  • Community Group of the Year: Purley Sustainability Group (Highly Commended: Phoenix Lacrosse Club, Cold Ash FC)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Mike Warner (Highly Commended: Rita Curran & Robin Strapp)
