Hungerford Remembrance Parade 2022

Several hundred people witnessed a very emotional and respectful Remembrance Day service at the Hungerford’s War Memorial on Sunday 13 November.

The High Street which was lined with onlookers as The Parade was led by Hungerford RBL President Lt Col Miles Cook, a recently retired Royal Marine Officer, who was born and brought up in Hungerford.

It was a pleasure to welcome our MP Laura Ferris to the Parade which was also attended by our Mayor Mrs Helen Simpson and the Constable of the Town and Manor of Hungerford, Julie Lloyd, along with many other civic organisations.

A detachment from 6th Bn REME marched and it was commented on how their drill and appearance did credit to their Unit and also the British Army.

Over 50 Wreaths were laid by all branches of the Hungerford RBL, Civic leaders and also voluntary organisations from the Town. The Hungerford Town Band played to their usual very high standard.

The service was led by the Rev Mike Saunders with the exhortation spoken by the RBL President.

After the service a very hospitable and convivial time was had at the Hungerford RBL Club.
