Sprouting Brocolli and Sesame Salad

When it’s hot, we crave cold and salty food and this improvisation worked well.


A large handful of sprouting brocolli (or chard stems – see below)
Sesame seeds
Sesame oil
Fish or soya sauce


Steam or boil your brocolli or chopped chard stems to the level of al dente/softness you like your veg.
Drain and put in a bowl.
Drizzle with sesame oil and splash with fish sauce.
While the brocolli is cooling, toast your sesame seeds in a hot pan. Keep stirring so they don’t burn. Sometimes we add butter to the pan but you don’t need to if you keep stirring.
Sprinkle seeds over the dish and enjoy!
