Lambourn Cof E Primary School enjoyed a week of Jubilee celebrations at the end of May, kicking off with a Jubilee tree planting by special guest AP McCoy on Monday 23 May.
The tree, a majestic curly willow, was grown by staff member Mrs Puffet who is herself born and bred in Lambourn. It took a lot of sweat and muscle to dig the hole as you can see from the pictures that the ground is solid chalk.
Penny recorded the event for 4LEGS radio. Listen here from 48 min 50 secs.
Later in the week all the pupils enjoyed a parade through the village and then on Friday 27 May they travelled back through the decades to celebrate the 70 years of Queen Elizabeth’s reign. Each year group dressed up in period costumes and danced to music from a chosen period. Everyone had a wonderful day!
