Hungerford Primary Students Meet the “Queen” at Jubilee Picnic

Hungerford Primary Jubilee Queen

On Friday 27 May 2022, all the children at Hungerford Primary dressed in red, white and blue to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.  The children all had a special Jubilee picnic outside and when the “Queen” arrived, the whole school stood and sang God Save the Queen, while waving their Jubilee flags.

One child from each class had won the “Decorate a plate fit for a Queen” competition, the prize for which was to sit at the top table with the Queen and Headteacher Mr Mayer.

During the afternoon, each year group performed a song they had chosen from one of the decades of the Queen’s reign.

At the end of the afternoon, two children from our Foundation classes presented the “Queen” with some flowers and chocolates to thank her for visiting our school.

It was a wonderful occasion which the children will treasure for years.
