Ukraine Appeal for generators and windows

Recharge Cherniv Ukraine Appeal

Kolya and his family from Chernihiv in northern Ukraine are now living with former Newbury mayor Margo Payne.

Kolya has medical exemption from the army so is over here with his family but they are desperately worried about their elderly relatives and neighbours who didn’t want to leave.

The villages around Chernihiv were occupied by the Russians who burnt down many houses, hence the need for tents and sleeping bags. Those houses still standing have all their windows and doors blown out so they have been are appealling for old windows and doors no matter the size. Plus generators and little solar panels are needed to help charge phones and torches.

The response has been amazing. They now have enough donations to transport to the most northern border point where they will be collected by contacts that Kolya has in the surrounding villages of Chernihiv.

But the vehicle and driver they were expecting to be able to use is no longer available and their storage time at Rookery Farm is running out. They have a second driver but desperately need use of a new vehicle with a driver.

How to help
