The Berkshire Football Awards is an annual awards ceremony run by Football in Berkshire. It were set up to celebrate the great and the good in the local non-league game, from the semi-professional clubs down to the hundreds of junior teams, players and volunteers so vital to ensuring the game takes place.
Categories include Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season, Referee of the Season and Goal of the Season amongst many others. During the 2020 nomination period, Football in Berkshire received over 500 nominations for 13 awards with Sky Sports Tom White presenting the trophies on a bright June evening at Binfield Football Club.
Thankfully, following two years without a ceremony, the Berkshire Football Awards will return in 2022. Nominations have now closed and full list of those on the short list can be seen here, as can further information about the event itself. This will take place at Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading on Wednesday 15 June from 7pm. The Awards will once again be hosted by Tom White and this year the organisers have teamed up with Awards FC to offer some stunning prizes.
We’ve picked those on the short list from the area that Penny Post covers (West Berkshire). For the full list, see here. Congratulations to all those who were nominated.
