The Hungerford & Camburn Educational Foundation was set up by a legacy from Caleb Camburn, the first Headmaster of Hungerford School, to give financial support to students of Hungerford for further education or apprenticeship expenses.

Hungerford & Camburn Trust gives annual grants to young people between 16-25 years whose parents or guardians have lived in the town of Hungerford for not less than 3 years prior to the date of their applications.

The grants are not limited to academic courses. We have provided tools and books for an apprentice on a plumbing course and a track saw and router for a young person enrolled on a fine furniture making course as well as funded a hairdressing kit and a harp for different studies.

Last year, we awarded grants to 17 students/apprentices for text books, computer software, stationery, sports equipment as well as university and college living costs. One student requested funds to buy a lab coat, stethoscope and calculator for use during a degree in medicine. Another wished to buy a suitable laptop and sketchbooks for a course in fashion and communication.
