Local Homes for Ukraine

February 2023 update from West Berkshire Council

The number of new Ukraine arrivals has slowed but we have guests whose hosting arrangements are coming to an end. This can be due to changes in family circumstances, health issues, decorating/building work, and understandably financial concerns. Some people also need to take a break after having a family in their home for several months. These guests aren’t ready to move into their own independent private accommodation and would benefit from a continued hosting arrangement.

If you have a spare room or empty home, and you can offer a home to a Ukraine guest or family you can register to be a host.

You may have already hosted a guest and would be willing to host again or be considering hosting for the first time.

To find out more about being a host please see the government’s Guidance for sponsors

If you do feel that you could re-host now, or after a break, or feel you like to host for the first time please get in touch with the Ukraine Hub Team at ukraine@westberks.gov.uk or contact us on 01635 503579 for an informal chat we would be very happy to hear from you.

The Newbury Group have also compiled these information sheets for hosts:
