10-May-22 | Lambourn Walk Part 2 led by Sue Cocker, followed by tea and cake in the Memorial Hall | Part 1 last year took us around the oval surrounding St Michael?s & All Angels Church. This time our WI member and local historian will tell us about buildings on Lambourn High Street. |
14-Jun-22 | The Foundling Hospital | Our speaker spent his early life at the hospital, in London, Britain's first home for children at risk of abandonment. It is now an excellent museum. |
12-Jul-22 | Lebanese Cuisine by Wafaa Powell | Wafaa of Dancing Flavours who was born and brought up in Lebanon, will prepare some Lebanese dishes for us. The cuisine is influenced by the Mediterranean. Using fresh ingredients, each dish is aromatic and rich in delicate flavours ? tasty and healthy but not hot and spicy. An Open Meeting with visitors from other WI branches. https://www.dancingflavours.co.uk |
09-Aug-22 | Ragbag and Cocktails | Our speaker spent 28 years abroad as a diplomatic wife. She will give us a glimpse into a way of life which has now all but disappeared. It may not have been quite as you imagine! |
13-Sep-22 | Musical entertainment from a Wantage-based folk group | Pandemonium will make our meeting go with a swing. An Open Meeting with visitors from other WI branches. |
11-Oct-22 | Honeybees and Pollinators | Our local beekeeper from Hillside Honey in Great Shefford will explain how clever bees are. |
08-Nov-22 | Lundy Island | We even have a local expert on Lundy in Lambourn and look forward to seeing and hearing more about it. |
13-Dec-22 | Tracing the Cinderella Story | A suitable Christmas meeting theme with Pantomimes in mind. There will also be seasonal refreshments |
10-Jan-23 | Talk and Taste Evening | Members bring along a prepared food or drink item, plus the recipe, and tell us a little about the choice. Then we test them all, of course. |
14-Feb-23 | Annual Meeting | Normally followed by a talk, as yet to be decided. |
