News from Hungerford’s Independent Shops & Businesses – February 2022

Hungerford is famous for its independent shops and businesses which make the High Street worth a visit.

Honesty Coffee Shops

Hungerford is lucky to have two Honesty Coffee Shops at Barrs Yard and Herongate Club with Valentine’s treats in store for you this month:

– Orange and poppy seed cake (cake of the month in February)
– Valentines Victoria Sponge
– Heart shaped short bread

Don’t forget you can order baked goodies from the Honesty website for collection at your favourite Honesty coffee shop.

To minimise waste, they recommend this Bread & Butter pudding recipe to use up any leftover bread.

The Clockmaker

For an illustration of the quality of our repair work, please see this recent video.

Do browse our range of affordable clocks as well as our usual range of antique clocks and barometers online. We have many more in the shop and they make lovely gifts.

Hungerford Coin & Stamp Centre

The big news that Royal Mail have announced that from next January 1st and 2nd Class definitive stamps will have bar codes on them and the old-style stamps featuring the Queen’s head will be fazed out.

There has been much confusion over this but commemorative stamps will remain valid and will continue to be issued. You can therefore rest assured that we will continue to supply discount postage for you.

We are open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm.

Hungerford Printing Co.

We are very excited about our first local wedding invites in production and to be supporting our local Town and Manor with signs to remind all of the new speed limit on the Common.

We are also looking for local artists to paint favourite shops and local scenes for our merchandise – we want to print lovely, tasteful items to send to friends and family, or keep in your kitchen and home.
And finally, we are so excited to have TWO Vintage Pop Up Shops back to back. Please pop in and welcome Beatnix Vintage and Ruby’s Vintage at the studio 7 to 20 Feb.
