An enthusiast editor is required for our well-established and well-loved parish magazine, published in print form six times a year with a bumper edition at Christmas-time.
A genuine interest in local community news and showcasing small businesses and trades is ideal, as are basic copy editing skills and the ability to engage with the public and field local enquiries. Experience at managing deadlines would also be an advantage – however, in all these tasks you would not be alone as you’d be working alongside another experienced volunteer. We are open to new ideas and new ways to showcase our lovely village to those who live and work in and around the area.
“The Great Shefford Parish Magazine has been a wonderful local source of information for many years now, communicating news and supporting activities and groups in our community. It also promotes local business and services, which I know many villagers and local members find invaluable. It would be huge loss to us all if you were unable to find help to keep this excellent magazine going.” (Steve Ackrill, Great Shefford Parish Council Chairman).
