Hungerford Repair Café at the Town Hall

Hungerford Repair Café had another successful day on Sunday 19th September 2021 helping forty visitors to fix their broken items in the Town Hall.

There were all manner of things to fix including a broken circular saw, a damaged antique clock face and a room heater.

The volunteers helped to mend 63% of the items brought in and were able to advise the owners about how to fix a further 23% of them.

The café served tea, coffee and biscuits to volunteers and visitors alike.

Our aim is to help our community learn how to repair their own things in an enjoyable and sociable setting.

We also saved about 84 kilogrammes of waste going into landfill or other recycling facilities.

Our next Repair Café will be held in November. The date and location will be published on local social media sites including those of our supporters in Rotary and H.E.A.T.

We would like to thank the Town and Manor for the use of the Town Hall, free of charge.
