News from Hungerford’s Independent Shops & Businesses – August 2021

Hungerford is famous for its independent shops and businesses which make the High Street worth a visit.

Belle Chic Health & Beauty

Ear piercing is all the rage for children, adults and men. It’s been a mixture of 1st, 2nd & 3rd holes with cartilage piercing too. Please call or email to book.

We are delighted to announce that Elle has joined Belle Chic as a junior beauty therapist. She loves giving relaxing massages, facials, shaping & tinting brows, eyelash tinting & nail treatments.
Recently qualified in lash lifts, Elle will be going on all her brand training soon. Before she does, you can expect a junior pricing for her treatments when you check out.
Elle is a local girl, who did her work experience at the salon & showed a lot of promise. You’ll meet her on reception as well as in the treatment room.
Please follow Belle Chic on social media or email to join our mailing list

Hungerford Coin & Stamp Centre

The last few days have been busy going on house calls to view and value large collections.

One call was to view a very important Victorian stamp collection housed neatly in an album and properly written up in pencil over the years. The collector knew exactly what he owned, had kept all the original invoices (provenance) and presented the collection for sale intact. I was the third dealer to look at it and I made a very strong offer which was accepted.

Next off to see a stamp widow who had 3 bedrooms full of stamps in plastic crates from floor to ceiling. Unfortunately  the value was just too low to justify the work involved and it would have filled three vans!

Each to their own, collectors all have their unique ways of collecting.
