Wantage Groups tackle doorstep crime

After the recent attempted fraudulent behaviour on local residents at home by individuals from outside our area pretending to be from local groups and charities, five local community groups who care passionately about our residents have joined together.
The Ray Collins Charitable Trust, Wantage & Grove Food Bank, Sustainable Wantage, Vale Community Impact (formerly Wantage Independent Advice Centre) and A Helping Hand Grove & Wantage have designed an informative leaflet giving advice on doorstep scams with what to do and what not to do. Plus contact numbers for those feeling concerned.
On the reverse is a poster to display in the windows of residential homes saying NO to uninvited callers. We have emailed all the parish councils for help distributing the leaflets.
We are starting to deliver the 15,000 leaflets this weekend in Wantage & Grove, Childrey, Sparsholt and Westcot
West Challow, Fawler & Kingston Lisle, East Challow.
If any of the volunteer groups in the Letcombe Bassett, Ardington, Lockinge, Hanneys, Charney Bassett would like to help with delivering to their village please email info@raycollinstrust.org.
Thank you and “Keep Em Peeled”!
