A message from Hungerford CHAIN about Handybus services, June 2021

The CHAIN Handybus service provides transport in Hungerford for those who are less mobile, disabled or socially isolated.

I’d like to thank everyone in the Handybus team for their support and efforts over the last 14 months. Through most of the pandemic we have been able to maintain a skeleton service, providing shopping runs to Tesco and using some spare availability to support the community by completing Foodbank duties. It has tested our flexibility and our ability to ensure that we were providing safe transport in line with Covid restrictions and advice.

From July onwards, we will begin to renew our services providing Covid restrictions are relaxed from late June. This will include one or two weekly trips to Tesco for shopping. In addition, we hope to reintroduce our weekly trip to Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool in Swindon for those whose doctor or other clinical staff have recommended this treatment.

If you would like to know more about this or any other service CHAIN provide through the Handybus, please contact me, Ted Angell, on 01488 682610, 077998 86597 or tedangell.ta@gmail.com.
