The Hungerford & Camburn Educational Foundation was set up by a legacy from Caleb Camburn, the first Headmaster of Hungerford School, to give financial support to students of Hungerford for further education or apprenticeship expenses.

Hungerford & Camburn Trust gives annual grants to young people between 16-25 years whose parents or guardians have lived in Hungerford for no less than three years prior to the date of their application.

The grants are not limited to academic courses. We have provided tools and books for one apprentice on a plumbing course and a track saw and rooter for a young man enrolled on a fine furniture making course. We also gave a music student a grant to purchase a travelling harp!

Last year, we handed out grants to 20 students/apprentices for textbooks, stationery, sports equipment, university and college living costs. One student asked for funds to pay for a lab coat, stethoscope and calculator for her degree in medicine, another wished to buy a good quality laptop and sketchbooks for her course in fashion and communication.
