Helen Browning’s Royal Oak, Bishopstone

Bishopstone, SN6 8PP

A gently eccentric English pub and mini-hotel which won The Good Hotel Guide’s 2022 César Award for Inn of the Year, set amid 1500 acres of organic farmland and woodland on the Wiltshire Downs. The ancient Ridgeway crosses our land. Take the walks and cycle paths north and south of it. Find white horses, burial chambers and Iron Age forts.

After 16 years of looking after you, we've just about got the hang of it. Our pub offers excellent local real ales and good classic simple food. Our outdoor kitchen offers pizzas, burgers, steaks, salads and various light bites. We have 12 interesting bedrooms styled on our farm fields, a large garden and decks for eating and drinking outside.

We also have a farmshop in the garden and The Flying Pig hot food van on The Ridgeway.

They have an inspiring approach to food and farming, which can be learned about in the farm tour.
