News from Hungerford’s Shops & Businesses – March 2021

Now more than ever it is important to shop local. Hungerford Chamber of Commerce is also providing advice and support to help local businesses during this challenging time.

The Emporium

We are sooo looking forward to re-opening on 12th April (all being well)!

In the meantime, we are still operating a click and collect service to anyone who sees something that they’d like to buy either displayed in our shop window or on our daily Instagram (emporiumhungerford) and Facebook (The Emporium Hungerford) posts.

Hungerford Bookshop

Unsurprisingly we happen to think that a good book is the best way to get through lockdown.

See our Book of the Month column for a wide choice of titles that we recommend.

Customers can phone through orders on 01488 683480, hello@hungerfordbookshop.co.uk or place orders online at hungerfordbookshop.co.uk or message us on Facebook.

We will deliver for free within Hungerford, or customers can take advantage of our ‘call & collect’ service.

Books can also be posted out to you (and usually take just two or three days).

M & P Hardware

Spring is definitely here and for gardeners we stock compost, Cuprinol wood treatment for your gates and fences. Plus kindling, electrical appliances, bulbs, pest control, home brew kits, key cutting, shoe repairs, paint and DIY materials – as many UK made as possibe.

We are open during lockdown and also are happy to deliver to any local isolating customers.

Please give us a ring on 01488 681048 or pop in (we are up the cuttings next to Martin & The Magpie).

Fare Wise Travel

We are cautiously optimistic about the future for travellers. See our interview here with Brian Quinn

Although our doors are closed we are still available by phone or email to help you plan for the second half of 2021 and 2022. We can advise on covid insurance as well as quarantine risks. And if you are waiting for refunds on previous bookings, please rest assured that they are coming through. You just need to be patient…

Due to lockdown restrictions we cannot open for face to face business and our staff are furloughed but calls and emails will be handled.

Please contact Veronica on 01488 686858  hung@farewise.com

Stay well and remember…Life’s too short to drink bad wine. So why not try our March wine of the month which is a Chilean 2018 100% Chardonnay.

Hungerford Legal & Financial Centre

Our office in central Hungerford, overlooking the courtyard at the back of Eliane’s Cafe, is shared by Marlborough Law, Claritas Accounting, Professionals in Partnership and Hungerford Financial Partners. This collaboration has been set up so that busy local people can address all their personal or business problems in one appointment at one place.
