Ordination of Rev Marcia Wadham, Wednesday 21 September 7.30 pm
We are making history – as far as we know this is the first ordination in St Lawrence’s 800 year history. Rev Marcia worked as a ministry assistant at St Nic’s, Newbury while she was discerning whether she was called to be a vicar. She then trained at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford and to get some experience was placed with St Mary’s, Thatcham. She will be ordained deacon on 21 September and in her first year will lead services, preach sermons and take baptisms and funerals. After about a year she will be ordained priest and then she will be able to take communion and weddings services as well. Then in 2025 she will move on to become a vicar and to lead her own church.

Please come to welcome Marcia on 21 September and please pray for her as she starts her new job.
