News from Hungerford’s Shops & Businesses – January 2021

Now more than ever it is important to shop local. Hungerford Chamber of Commerce is also providing advice and support to help local businesses during this challenging time.

The Emporium

We are obviously sad to be closed again but we are still able to bring you cheer and inspiration from our lovely stallholders.

Every day we post photos of items for sale on our social media and you can contact us on any of the options below to arrange payment and collection.

Hungerford Bookshop

Unsurprisingly we happen to think that a good book is the best way to get through lockdown.

Our January Book of the Month is Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid. This fresh, gripping read explores the issues of race and privilege, and how the two intertwine.

Customers can phone through orders on 01488 683480, or place orders online at or message us on Facebook.

We will deliver for free within Hungerford, or customers can take advantage of our ‘call & collect’ service.

Books can also be posted out to you (and usually take just two or three days).

M & P Hardware

We are able to stay open during lockdown and stock all winter essentials including kindling, bulbs and pest control and home brew kits…plus lots of paint and DIY materials if you are planning some projects during lockdown.
We are happy to deliver to any local isolating customers.
Please give us a ring on 01488 681048.

Stay well and remember…Life’s too short to drink bad wine.
