21 Bridge Street, Hungerford, RG17 0EG
A family-owned freehouse and brew pub, The John O'Gaunt is a sympathetically-restored 16th century building. We’ve a achieved a Trip Advisor certificate of excellence every year for the last five years.
We pride ourselves on our constantly changing selection of at least eight real ales, many from local breweries and some brewed by us. We also stock a great selection of at least ten draft real ciders, including from local cider makers such as Tutts Clump, and a range of bottled bottled beers from around the world, particularly Belgium.
We are proud of our food and our local credentials, sourcing from nearby farms and suppliers. Our beef comes from our own cattle on Hungerford Common. Our menu may change regularly to make the most of seasonal local produce but our ethos of great produce, cooked simply, is with us every day.
All food and drink is available indoors or in our award-winning garden.
As part of the INNformal Pub Co and Brewery we are forging the way in bringing back the core values of traditional pubs. We serve excellent ales, ciders and beers and superb food, all with a welcoming smile. We are many people's idea of the perfect pub. The judges at CAMRA agree as we’re their West Berkshire Pub of the Year.
