Discount on Home Insulation available via WBCAN’s Warmer Streets Scheme

Have you heard about the Green Homes Grant that the Government launched in September 2020 to help homeowners and landlords finance energy efficiency improvements in the home? Available until March 2021, you can apply for a voucher worth up to £5,000 to cover up to two-thirds of your insulation cost that will reduce your heating hills. Low income households or for those on certain benefits are eligible for £10,000 to cover 100% of their insulation costs.

West Berks Climate Action Network (WBCAN), a local volunteer group, saw an opportunity to help West Berkshire residents stretch this grant money even further. It has so far teamed up with InstaGroup, one of just two Government registered home insulation installers in the area, to deliver its “Warmer Streets” scheme, providing homeowners with a further 10-15% discount on cavity and loft insulation. A further £50 off the final cost will be applied when you refer a friend to the scheme.

WBCAN and InstaGroup held an Information Evening on Wednesday 14 October to share information and answer questions on the Green Homes Grant and Warmer Streets. You can watch the recording here: https://youtu.be/Em0uSC353cg

A second live Information Evening will be held on Mon 9 Nov at 8pm. If you’d like to join this, email WestBerksCAN@gmail.com for the Zoom link.
