Bookkeeper Jon Shatford Braves the Shave for Macmillan Cancer Support

Over the weekend Jon Shatford, a bookkeeper from Hungerford, took part in Brave The Shave to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The fundraising event saw Jon’s head shaved by a barber at Snippets Barbers in Hungerford to raise £1,130.

Jon said of his experience: ‘I was very nervous before the event and it is a bit strange not having any hair now but I am thrilled with the amount raised and the support I have had from my local community. I decided to join the Brave The Shave cause because Macmillan Cancer Support relies solely on donations and because of COVID-19 they have struggled. I hope to raise money as well as awareness of the vital work they do.’

Though the event is over, the fundraising page is still open if anyone would like to donate here Jon Shatford Brave The Shave.

Jon is an active member of his community, not only running a local business but also as President-Elect of Hungerford Rotary Club and more recently was elected at the AGM of the John O’Gaunt School PSA as Chair of the PSA.
