The Crown and Garter, Inkpen

Great Common Road, Inkpen Common, Near Hungerford, RG17 9QR

Simple, honest food, a drinks list dominated by local breweries and distilleries, and 10 beautifully designed rustic bedrooms, all in a building that dates back to 1640, The Crown & Garter is way beyond the average countryside pub.

Set in the idyllic village of Inkpen, West Berkshire, the award-winning pub is part of the Honesty Group, which includes nine coffee shops, a bakery and a cookery school across the Berkshire countryside. The Crown & Garter was born from a desire from owner Romilla Arber to serve honest food, so customers know exactly where it comes from and how it’s cooked.

Surrounded by the glorious English countryside, the Crown & Garter is the perfect pit-stop for walkers, cyclists, locals and those looking for a relaxing rural retreat.

We are delighted to have been awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence five years in a row!

“Had a wonderful evening here with six members of the family to celebrate my birthday. Staff and food faultless. Good selection of food. Have been meaning to go over the hill to visit for a while now and will definitely return!” Kim, Hurstbourne Tarrant
