Aldbourne Post Office wins Local Hero Award

Aldbourne Post Mistress Sue Rendell has been extra busy during lockdown keeping not only her own Post Office and shop going but providing a rescue service for another Wiltshire post master who was struggling.  Sue didn’t think twice about doing this and so she was totally surprised to win Local Hero category at the Post Office’s ‘We’re Stronger Together’ regional awards for the South West. These awards recognise the efforts made by postmasters across the region to keep branches open during the Covid-19 pandemic and serving their local community.

“The award was a complete surprise,” explains Sue. “I had no idea that I had even been nominated, which is why the award came as more of a shock. I still help the other postmaster as often as I can and for us here in Aldbourne, it has been business as usual. I have fabulous staff that were able to ensure that Aldbourne PO could continue as normal and continue to provide to the village during this time of uncertainty!”
