Refurbishment work and an August re-opening for The Queens Arms in East Garston

Hello All,

We can all do with some good news at present, so here’s some from us – we can confirm that we are not selling the pub. In fact, quite the opposite…

We are fully committed to the business and indeed have just started a major refurbishment of the bar, restaurant, lodge and outdoor areas. We have also taken on a new manager, Mike Hedges, and together we are really looking forward to welcoming you back to a new-look Queens Arms.  Rest assured it will still have the same heart and soul, just with some improvements which we really hope you will love.

However, due to lockdown, it is only now that we can get the team in to start the work, which is expected to take about a month: we will therefore not be reopening on Saturday 4 July. Instead we are planning on pouring our first pint sometime in early August – more info to follow. This will also give us time to consider the new health and safety regulations so that when we do re-open we are fully prepared.

Due to the nature of the refurbishment this will be the last week of online shopping for now. So if, like me, you love the meat from Walter Rose, please make sure you put in a big order for your freezer. Bread orders need to be in by noon on Wednesday 1 July and all other orders by noon on Thursday 2 July, with delivery or collection from noon to 3pm on Friday 3 July.

This Friday and Saturday (3 and 4 July) will also be our last pizza nights for now. So if you spend over £30 on the shop, remember to order your free pizza.

Contact us on 01488 648757 or info@queensarmseastgarston.co.uk to place your orders.

Thank you so much for support us during these tricky times. We hope that you are all keeping well and that you will actually have a proper chance to enjoy summer. We are itching to reopen but hopefully the extended wait will be worthwhile for us all.

Thanks,

Freddie & Sue
