One of our favourite smells of summer, basil is easy to grow on a windowsill at home.

But even after trying all those you have some left, you can make basil paste which freezes well. 

If you have bought basil or picked too much to use at once, place the stems in a glass of water (like cut flowers) or take the leaves off the stem, wrap them in paper towel (to protect them from the cold) and place them in a bag in the fridge.
