Friends of Hungerford Primary School – November 2020 News

News from the Friends of Hungerford Primary School – December 2020

The new committee are beginning to settle in nicely even in these strange and quiet times! Our parent volunteer Mel has made a fantastic effort in raising a fab sum via the children’s Christmas cards which is one of the few fundraising opportunities for what would usually be a busy time for us. We will be using some of these funds alongside kind donations from the Hungerford Summer Festival and Jon Shatford Bookkeeping to provide art materials for the children’s annual Christmas Art Day.

Jumble sale 20 March 2021 at Hungerford Town Hall

We are still hoping to go ahead with the Jumble Sale in the Town Hall in a Covid safe manner providing guidelines allow. So please consider us for donations in your post-Christmas clear out. If your company would like to sponsor the event we would also love to hear from you!

Make a difference day

We are still keen to host another make the difference day to give the school grounds a spring clean. Once guidelines allow we will be in need of some helping hands for tidying, repairs and gardening across the outdoor areas for the school to use. A lot has been achieved on our previous days with some amazing volunteers!

Emma and Sarah our outgoing chair and Vice-chair have kindly offered to stay on as trustees to make grant applications. Please let you us know about any grant opportunities that the Friends could apply for.

Hungerford Co-op & Tesco

Exciting news! We have been selected again for the Co-op local causes. We hope that you will continue to support us by selecting us as your cause again this year or by signing up for a Co-op membership. We would like to buy some equipment which will help us run our fundraising events and will allow us to provide more activities for the children at school.  Follow this link:

You can also buy West Berkshire Lottery tickets in support of our cause, and be in with the chance of winning some cash yourself. If just 10 tickets are bought every month we are eligible to apply for West Berkshire lottery grants.  If you haven’t signed up yet please visit our page:

Friends of Hungerford Primary School

The Friends of Hungerford Primary School (formerly PTA) is a charitable organisation formed by parents, which supports Hungerford Primary to provide the best educational experience for our children.

We work with the school to provide support, both financial and practical.

We fund-raise, make grant applications and try to find skilled induviduals to help us. We also support parents directly with practical solutions such as our second hand school uniform sales.

In addition to supporting the school in its everyday needs we are currently building relationships between the school and other Hungerford-based groups to raise the profile of the school in the communit
